I’ve been thinking about NOT creating a separate wiki for Utah authors at all, but just using Wikipedia. Going in and creating or augmenting wikipedia entries for Utah authors and then perhaps writing a separate index on webspace outside of wikipedia to provide the kind of access that I don’t think wikipedia terms and tags can provide. I don’t know enough about creating a mashup to pull entries OUT of wikipedia for use in my own index. Maybe I should figure that out.

Why Utah Authors?

I’d like to create an online bio-bibliography of Utah authors…sort of an encyclopedia of Utah literature. Ideally this would be a database-driven kind of site. A wikipedia would be great. Anyway, I’m going to be exploring both the technological and bibliographic issues in this blog. Please make comments, if you have information to add to the topic. Let me know about good ways to develop a rich and effective encyclopedia without a lot of technological skill! Tell me about Utah authors you think should be included. Thanks.
